Buchenwald Memorial and Concentration Camp - Weimar Germany: Saturday, April 5th 2014

Buchenwald Memorial and Concentration Camp:
The Buchenwald Concentration Camp was built in 1937 in Wiemar. This is the concentration camp on Ettersberg mountain where the SS deported men, teenagers and children, political opponents to the Nazi Regime, criminals, homosexuals, Jehova Witnesses, Jews etc.

The inmates in the Buchenwald "Parent camp" and the 136 sub camps were ruthlessly exploited.  We learned on the tour that about 56,000 human beings met their deaths in Buchenwald and it's sub camps; they were either  killed deliberately, starved to death, died of illness or died as victims of medical experiments.

There are just no words to fully express the thoughts, emotions and feelings you experience while visiting this place.

German Proverb Meaning "to each his own" or "to each what he deserves."
