Belleau Wood Marine Monument:

Belleau Wood Marine Monument is a memorial to the World War I American fighting men.  The U.S. Marine Corps erected the Marine Monument to commemorate the actions of the 4th Marine Brigade of the U.S. Army's 2nd Division.  The 2nd Division began their attack on the Germans on June 6th, 1918.  There were 8,100 casualties during the intense fighting.

Our group stopped here for a moment and walked through the forest to observe the trenches and fox holes.
